THE TOP 5 MUSIC EVENTS COMING TO THE KC SPRINT CENTER IN 2016

2016 is upon us, and with it comes a whole group of talented bands and musicians playing at Kansas City’s famous Sprint Center. For those of you who prefer the classics, you’ll find yourself no shortage of high-profile acts playing at the Sprint Center this year, as many of the most iconic bands and singers from the 1960s and 1970s will be performing shows this year. This list includes the top acts performing at the Sprint Center throughout 2016, but a full list of events as well as ticket prices and show times can be found on their website. The price of most tickets usually comes out to be between 40-150 dollars, contingent upon your choice of seating.

 

  1. Black Sabbath – February 17

What a way to kick in the year: in less than a week Black Sabbath is set to play at the Sprint Center, where you will no doubt hear many of their classics played live by the masters themselves. This looks to be the last time Black Sabbath will ever tour, at least in any major capacity: if what Tony Iommi says is any indication, this could be your only remaining opportunity to see them live, and the fact that this tour is called “The End” is pretty indicative if anything. The show is nearly upon us so secure your tickets before they are gone!

 

  1. AC/DC – February 29

For all of the die-hard classic rock fans out there, make 2016’s leap day memorable by scoring seats to AC/DC’s “Rock or Bust” tour, coming to the Sprint Center on February 29th. There isn’t a definitive set list floating around on the internet, but this site has compiled a list of the songs played at their previous venues, which should give you a good idea of what to expect. There are several of their most iconic hits from the 70’s and 80’s in there, so secure your tickets before they run out!

 

  1. Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band – April 7

The third act on this list is Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band. They will be performing together at the Sprint Center on April 7th as part of the “River Tour 2016”, where not only be performing material from their newest compilation The Ties That Bind: The River Collection, but they will be playing the 1980 album “The River” in full in celebration of its 35th anniversary.   1. The Who – April 29th

2016 is shaping up to be a banner year for fans of classic rock. Celebrating their 50th anniversary with a sweeping world tour, they will make their appearance at the Sprint Center on April 29th. After a few tour delays resulting from health issues, the Who is back and better than ever! The previous set lists from their 2015 and early 2016 shows can be found here to give you an idea of what they might play, as no official list for their North American tours has been released yet.

 

  1. Janet Jackson – July 18

What better way to round out the assortment of talented singers and musicians performing this year than to attend Janet Jackson’s stop in KC on her “Unbreakable” world tour? A bit more contemporary but with no less of a lengthy and storied career, she will be performing songs from her newest album as well as some of her older material on July 18th, so don’t miss your chance to see the Queen of Pop live!
